Welcome to Complete Movement!
Do you ever wonder if there's a better way to move? Are you feeling slow or not at your peak? Perhaps you're a performer or an athlete wondering how to better use your body as an efficient instrument. Maybe you've experienced pain or limitation? If your work includes a lot of movement, lifting, or carrying, you may be wondering if there is a way to ease your daily stress.
Maybe you're looking to improve your golf swing, sit and type more comfortably at your desk, or get more restful, consistent sleep. Or maybe you want to get down on the dance floor or get down on the floor to play with your grandchildren.
On the pages of this site you will find the home of Jessica Zarins, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®- a talented somatic movement education specialist who can help you with all of those things and more.
Felden-what? Somatic who?
Imagine your body as a car or a piano. Both of these get "tuned up", so that they perform better, right? Now what if we could "tune" the human brain, such that inefficient, painful, or just plain outdated movement patterns, ingrained into the nervous system through years of repetition, could be erased and replaced with more efficient alternatives?
This is the basic premise of the Feldenkrais Method® invented by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais over 40 years ago, and passed down to practitioners through organic learning experiences ever since. His body of playful, exploratory movement lessons serves as the basis for which practitioners trained in his method aid clients on their journey to self-awareness through more efficient movement. Jessica has guided many people on their own unique journeys, and she can do the same for you.
For more details on the method, see the About Feldenkrais® page. To schedule your customized Feldenkrais Functional Integration® lesson with Jessica or with a question you might have, visit the Contact page.
